I have just thought that when Jessica is in the woods, she could either pull out a note book and write down her feelings at the time or she could pull out a photo album or some photos of her and her family. I thought this would be a good extra into the video, so that the audience don't just see this reserved character who comes across as normal and just a bit of a bad teenager, however they will get an insight into Jess's thoughts, as she may write things such as "don't want to ask for help", or "feel alone now", something like that to get the audience thinking even more. I may apply Roland Barthes's theory into my video and actually keep the notes hidden from the audience, acting as an enigma code which will leave them guessing as to what she has written.
If I was to do the photo album idea, I would need to get some pictures of Jessica with her mother and father, or find some pictures of just her family. I think this would be a good idea because it could open up another side of Jessica to the audience, possibly that she does care deep down and she does love her family, however throughout her teenage years, she has found it hard to open up about her feelings/problems and she really does need help and support from her loved ones. This could act as a really interesting part to the video. I think I will film it and see how it looks in post-production, as to whether I keep it in or not, as it may not work as well as I thought.
Possibly the photos could be a trigger to make her go home? The way I would do it, I would use the notebook throughout and possibly do the trick that they do on Sherlock with the text appearing on the screen (she could be writing a lot of angsty stuff about how she feels isolated - I would make it more that she blames them. The photo could be tucked at the back of the notebook and she only finds it at the end of the video (maybe she throws the book down in despair or something and the photo falls out?) Just a thought.
